Rod Davis is able to make the unbelievable, believable! River of Fear reminded me of a Stephen King or Dean Koontz novel. I was immediately able to see what was happening and have feelings for the characters.

River of Fear is a fascinating and unusually surprising novel involving intriguing and mysterious characters, unnatural happenings, and unexplained events. It's setting in rural, mountainous and woodsy Northwest Maine is the perfect place because it's very natural and pristine, although not the first place you'd think of as a place to run into the supernatural and paranormal! I enjoyed the book and can't wait to read the next one to find out what happens.

“River of Fear is a mystery action thriller that keeps the reader involved with much descriptive detail as he travels through many trails and backroads of Maine on snowmobiles. The characters and the reader encounter powerful, unexplainable forces, eerie sounds, magnetic pulsations and some very strange people! The writing style makes the reader feel that they are there and involved with the story as it unfolds around them. It is well written and keeps the reader wondering why, and wanting more in the way of thrills and action-packed adventure.”

I enjoyed this unique blending of the accurate description and atmosphere of our winter Maine woods with the paranormal and “other worlds” experience. River of Fear contains true-to-life stories about things that really do happen in the Maine woods! Rod Davis is able to create and maintain suspense, dropping hints about what’s really going on but never letting the characters “get it” until the end. I can’t wait to see how the story continues in the next two books.

River of Fear is one of the most imaginative books I have ever read. It kept my attention so well I lost all track of time and could not put it down. I especially liked the mysteriousness of the character Zen and the “Circle of Shimmering Air.”

What an intriguing, mysterious suspense novel! I’m not a reader; however, River of Fear is a book I couldn’t put down! The characters were true to life, just like real people I know who live in the Maine woods. The paranormal, ESP experiences and ET encounters the main characters have in this story held my attention - I’ve had experiences like this myself!

River of Fear is pretty close to being a true story. It may be written as a novel, but I’ll tell you there’s a lot of truth in it. I know, because I live in the Maine woods. Read it and find out for yourself what it’s like to experience things that
you just can’t explain!

River of Fear is a fascinating mystery set in the Maine woods. The story line keeps you on your toes - I couldn’t put the book down because the book keeps you guessing about what is going to happen next. The mystery revolves around the paranormal - maybe UFOs, maybe spirits, maybe a mirror world to ours. You, along with the characters, just don’t know until the end. This is one of the best books I’ve read - I loved it! I can’t wait to read the next two books and find out what REALLY is going on!

Attention High Adventurers! This is a great book for anyone who enjoys intrigue and mystery. The characters are true to backwoods Maine – I could really relate to the places and the Mainers. And, as a pilot, I liked that the book was realistic in that respect, as well as the many accurate descriptions of snowmobiling. I was enthused by River of Fear and would definitely give it high marks and recommend it to
young - or young at heart - readers.

"River of Fear is an interesting science-fiction or paranormal mystery story. It held my interest - I kept waiting for the other shoe to fall, and of course, it did. The author uses descriptive narrative that really brings you into the scene to experience what the characters are going through. You can feel the eerie silence and the reactions of the people in the story."

"River of Fear is an action adventure science fiction story that takes place in the back woods of Maine in the winter. It is a well written book and filled with accurate descriptions of mechanical, aerodynamic and modern electronic communications, which is used to bring to the attention of the reader that some form of higher life exists around us in other dimensions."
