NORTH LAS VEGAS PARANORMAL INVESTIGATION
BY
ROD C. DAVIS
My wife and I attended a meeting during the evening of June 15, 2004, wherein we met a young lady by the name of TJ. She has a ranch in North Las Vegas, Nevada, that has been in the family for years, and at one time in history it was a Wells Fargo Stage Coach stop. We were invited to look into paranormal events that regularly occur on this ranch. Following is an accounting of the occurrences that unfolded during and after that visit.
TJ is one of the owners of the North Las Vegas ranch that is situated within an eighty-acre parcel of land that had been staked out as a town site by John T. McWilliams. It became recognized as "Original Townsite of Las Vegas." McWilliams discovered this unclaimed land in 1902, while surveying property owned by Helen J. Stewart, which was located in an area known as Las Vegas Rancho. Opportunity hit him between the eyes because he knew that the acreage bordered a railroad line that was being built by the San Pedro, Los Angeles and Salt Lake Railroad Company. I'm sure that his goal was to have it become "the" new city on the railroad line. However, Senator W. A. Clark controlled the Railroad Company, and shortly after McWilliams began selling parcels in 1904, the Railroad Company bought land from Mrs. Stewart that was located to the southeast of the Original Townsite of Las Vegas. That area became known as "Clark's Las Vegas Townsite," and it contained an extremely important asset - the water rights. Those rights were the leverage that was employed by the Railroad Company to force McWilliams out of the area.
The North Las Vegas ranch has been in TJ's family for many years. There have been numerous instances wherein TJ has set down a tool, or some other item, only to find that it was not there when she went back to get it. It has happened so often that she began to wonder if someone, or something might be playing games with her, and she had good reason to believe that a something was the culprit. Ghosts have been seen on the property on more than one occasion, and there are those that believe one or more spirits may have made the ranch their home.
We began a tour of the ranch at 7:10 PM, and I had stated that I especially wanted to see where the Wells Fargo Stage Coach facility had been. TJ and Elaine led the journey, and shortly after passing an area that had been set up to enjoy a campfire, I felt something jab me right in the center of my back. It felt very much like the tip of a knife, and the sensation stayed with me for several steps before it went away. I stopped and turned around to see if it would happen again. I walked around in that immediate area for approximately a minute, but nothing more happened.
We went back to the main house to wait for sunset, which was the time of day when paranormal events seemed to occur more often. As it turned out … we did not have to wait that long.
The three of us sat at the dining room table while TJ shared more information regarding the ranch's history. We hadn't been into our dialog for very long when I felt a presence that totally enveloped me. Then, in what seemed like just a few seconds, I felt a tingling sensation that permeated my whole body, and as it intensified I became somewhat dizzy. I was not at all concerned with what was happening, and I owed that sense of security to an experience that I had a few days earlier.
On June 18th, a spirit of the higher light had visited me, and I will never forget that experience for as long as I live. The intensity of the euphoric feeling that I had was indescribable, and following is the closest that I can come to putting it into words: I have never felt such complete inner peace and love in my entire life. That feeling did not end when the presence left my body, and I have no idea how long it stayed with me because I had no sense of time. When the entity was leaving me, it was a slow process, and I could feel it sort of float out of my body. After it was gone I did not want to move, and it seemed like I was melting into the mattress. That experience left me in a blissful state that continues to this day. I do not know if it will last, but I am totally at peace with myself. Since that day, whenever I look at a fellow human being, it is from a totally different and very positive perspective, and it doesn't matter who it is.
I firmly believe that my spirit guide had come to prepare me for the experience that I was going to have at the ranch. I now know the extreme difference between being enveloped by a spirit of the higher light, and a spirit of the lesser light. The feeling that the spirit of the lesser light imparted was not euphoric, but it was not frightening, and the impression that it conveyed to me was confusion. I also had a sense that it was trying to control me.
I shared everything that I was experiencing with TJ as it unfolded. My wife told us that she was having a similar encounter. I told TJ that this spirit was not something to be afraid of, and also told her that I had a very strong impression that this spirit wanted to be in control of everything at the ranch. As soon as I said that, a loud YES boomed in the upper middle of my head, but that was the only verbal communication that I received.
While TJ, my wife and I discussed everything that was happening during the encounter, which included who the spirit might be, the sensation that was in my body slowly subsided. When it was totally gone it was replaced by something else, the sensation of being touched. First I felt a hand placed on the right side of my head, just above my ear, and it remained there for quite a while. Then I was gently prodded in several different places on my legs, arms and torso, and at one point I could feel intense energy surround me. I call it intense energy because it felt sort of like a magnetic wind (like a gentle touch and suction at the same time) touching my body everywhere, and the last sensation that I felt was hundreds of little electrical pinpricks all over my body.
TJ took everything we shared with her in stride, and was determined to find out more about the spirit frequenting her property. As we were getting into our vehicle to leave, Elaine noticed a red bead on the floor mat on her side. It was not there when we got out of the van. I went back to the house and asked TJ if she recognized the bead, and if it held any significance. She said the bead was her daughter’s, but it was nothing to get excited about. After thinking the event through, I'm convinced that the bead was a message to TJ … the missing tools, etc., were not her imagination, the prankster is just messing with her to get her attention. Perhaps time will reveal what message the spirit(s) is trying to convey to her.
Over the next few days TJ spent quite a bit of time researching the history of the area surrounding her ranch, and found the aforementioned historical data regarding J. T. McWilliams, Helen J. Stewart and Senator Clark. TJ felt that it might be McWilliams’ spirit that was responsible for the happenings at the ranch, and as it turned out, her reasoning was right on target.
While conducting her research on the Internet, TJ ran into computer glitches that didn't normally happen, and when she found information, that in her mind clinched the identity of the spirit in question, she felt a crushing pressure on her left leg that ran from her ankle up to her knee. The pain became so intense that it was impossible for her to concentrate, and she shut her computer down. Quite to her surprise, the pain went away shortly thereafter.
During a phone conversation on June 28th, TJ mentioned that she felt McWilliams might have stuck around because of the underhanded way he had been forced out of his dream by Clark. We debated whether her ranch was located within the "Original Townsite of Las Vegas," and eventually determined that it was. TJ asked if I would come back to the ranch to see if the spirit in question was McWilliams, and I told her that wouldn't be necessary. As we were talking I asked my Spirit Guides for the answer, and a little further into our conversation I heard a pronounced "yes" in the top center of my head. When I told TJ what I had heard, both she and I developed goose bumps all over our bodies. For those of you who are not experienced with spirit guide communication, goose bumps are an affirmation that lets you know you hit the nail on the head.
I told TJ that she could make the spirit leave if she wanted to, but I also said that it must be her decision. In addition, I mentioned that if she elected to send the spirit on its way, that I would be willing to help. If that is her choice, I hope that she elects to send it to the light, because if she doesn't, I think the prankster will come back.
